Cheerleader Spotlight: Twins in the NRL

Family members within cheerleading squads across the NRL is quite common - Manly for instance has 2 sets of sisters - but twins on the other hand is something of a rarity. So today's Cheerleader Spotlight will shine upon the twins currently gracing the sidelines at NRL games. Now... i could be wrong but to my knowledge we currently have identicle twins at the Bulldogs, Raiders and Dragons so if you have been to a game lately and thought you were having double vision - you weren't! Pheeeww.

Kimberley and Kristie are the dynamic duo at the Canterbury Bulldogs who have been cheerleading together for 5 years now. The girls kindly shed some light on what they love about being apart of the Belles and what it's like to cheerlead alongside your twin...
Belles Twins
This is our 5th season cheerleading together and we chose to audition and dance at the bulldogs because we're both such passionate NRL and Bulldogs supporters. Our parents and grandparents both grew up in the bankstown local area and our parents actually met at Canterbury leagues club! So it was a perfect fit for us to combine our passion for dance with our love for our local team!

We started dancing at the ago of 3 and have competed in various dance competitions, hold various titles in Australia and overseas and we are both qualified dance teachers as well. We have a very special bond and are completely inseparable so it is truly amazing to able to share such special moments together as Bulldogs Belles. We couldn't imagine cheering without each other as it wouldn't feel complete - there is nothing better than doing what you love with your best friend.
Kimberley
We both work full time: Kristie is a legal secretary and Kimberley is a property manager in real estate and we also teach dance classes to the junior belles and in other various styles.

Kristie

The most exciting moment for us in our cheerleading career would definitely have to be the 2012 grand final. It was such an amazing experience and we can only hope that every cheerleader gets to experience it at least once in their time on the sidelines.

xx
