Italian Vogue. Perfection. Exclamation Mark.

They are the 34 cheerleaders of the Dallas Cowboys who flank the team with their dances. They are girls between 18 and 26 years old who, in the eyes of fans, embody the essence of provocation.

Entering the dressing rooms of the cheerleaders of the Dallas Cowboys football team, it's not difficult to believe you're in the head office of the most famous pom-pom girls in America. The room in the heart of the stadium is as large as the football players' room, but the air is infused with the perfume of talcum powder and hair spray.

Each of the 34 cheerleaders has her own space, with a bench in which to store the hot pink set of suitcases they are issued with, and a large mirror framed with dozens of light bulbs. This is all topped by a natural sized photograph of each girl in her outfit, with her name underlined by the little stars that are the symbol of the "Big D".

With their white boots and provocative uniforms, the 34 "DCC" represent in this all American sport what the New York Yankees are for baseball. They are regularly engaged to entertain soldiers based overseas and are portrayed in posters hanging in the lockers of high schools: for this reason they lay claim to the nick-name, "America's Sweethearts". In addition to being fine-looking athletes, able to dance and do acrobatics, the girls are, in the eyes of Americans, the essence of sensual provocation.
