Never too late to chase your dreams....

One of my absolute favourite inspirational quotes of all time is "It's Never Too Late To Be What You Might Have Been - by George Eliot". I find such incredible hope, inspiration & motivation within these words and this message could not ring any more true for 55 year old Grandmother, Sharon Simmons, as she embarks on her journey to become a Dallas Cowboys Cheerleader.

I especially love hearing her speak about her journey so far and how she has learnt so much, aswel as, offered advice to others along the way. I know personally from my time within the NRL and im sure alot of girls can attest to this, that so many life lessons - whether they are big or small - are learnt within the training and locker rooms of our clubs stadiums. From make-up & hair tips, relationship advice, uni advice, health and exercise advice, a shoulder to cry on, celebrating milestones and achievements together, wise words of encouragement - what ever it may be - you always know there is a room full of young women pulling together and willing to support each other in any way possible. Its an incredible bond like no other.

It is the most special & sacred part of cheerleading i hold so very close to my heart. Not only do you get to dance and do what you love in front of thousands of people - but you get to do it with 20 of your dearest friends at such an exciting time of your life. You join a legacy of women who have come before you and you enter into a Sisterhood of young ladies who will all individually impact your life and teach you so many wonderful things along the way.

It's inspiring to see that women all over the world each have their very own dreams and aspirations in life and are not afraid to chase them even though there is a fear of failure! So in the words of my very wise and much loved Cheerleading Director, Monique Carroll - "If you can dream it - you can do it!!"
