Feathers, Sequins & Sunshine....

Arriving at Freshwater Headland for our 2013 Bikini shoot was a thrill to say the least. As i pulled up to the top of the headland where we were meeting all i could see were glimmering sparkles bouncing off the tanned little bodies of my fellow seabirds! Holy. Moly. Eeeekkk.

Sequins..... Glorious Sequins....... EVERYWHERE!

The teeny tiny maroon items were truely dazzling & dancing in the sunlight with every slight movement. I didn't know how the club could possibly top last years sweet polka dot numbers but the sequins in the sun really took it to another level!! Manly had succeeded in exceeding our expectations (Ha. what a mouthful.) Snaps all round you beautiful club you!!

So, as each and every one of us slipped into our teeny keeny's and donned our ferocious feathered wings we knew we were in for an amazing morning of fun and laughter. We discovered that being a Manly Seabird not only meant that you could dance, high kick and split but that being able to rock climb in wings is an essential talent too! haha. There were plenty of tumbles on the day with lots of cut feet and bruises - but it was all worth it to get that money shot! Our Director Monique probably had the most spectacular fall of the day which left half her leg black and blue but she still managed to fall gracefully and protect her phone and camera while doing so. She took the fall, she took the pain - but she saved the phone! Impressive. Haha priorities ladies... priorities!

Note to all on a personal level - don't try and appear to be effortless and coordinated when climbing that "perfect rock" to do your "perfect pose" - you WILL fall and you WILL bruise. What the younger sister can do doesn't necessarily mean you can do. Know your limits girlfriends- i learnt mine quick smart and so did my toosh. ouch!

There was also the introduction of the "Pink Seabird" as we like to call her - the adorable feathered pink skirt and t-shirt combo. Many of the girls had the chance to pose in her and get creative. I chose to introduce her to the lifeguards - and let me tell you - she is a flirty little fox the "Pink Seabird". Girlfriend brings all the boys to the yard!

All in all we had a magical day and many thanks need to go out to the team that made it all happen - Monique for her amazing vision and well lets be honest - everything, Josh our incredibly talented & patient photographer, the Manly Sea Eagles Club and to Teene and Rich the Manly videographers that always add to the fun of our crazy cheerleading family!
