Trapezing is something i have always wanted to do - who hasn't dreamt of running away and joining the circus at some stage?! So when the Manly Seabirds were surprised with a day at "Circus Arts" i was so excited and eager to live the dream for a day.
Firstly - it isnt as easy at it looks!! Holy moly - i grew up doing Gymnastics till i was 18 and even with all that training i still got nervous and struggled at first. It was such a fabulous bonding experience for us all as we spent the day yelling things like "you go girl" & "you've got this" at each other as each girl took her turn on the 10 metre platform. Haha it was hilarious!
Everyone took the plunge and got involved which was great to see. We all experienced the thrill of flying and mastered the
knee-hang, the back flip to the net and finally the catch just like
you’ve seen in the circus!
Letting go of all your fears and being caught by the staff was probably the most nerve racking part of the day but when you actually do it and you are caught - IT IS AMAZING!! You feel so proud of yourself and your new found skills! As you can see from the pics - it didn't hurt either that our instructor's and catchers were A-Grade babes! Thanks for organising that Monique! haha
Along with flying we also hula hooped, juggled, learnt to spin plates and walked on a tight rope. It was an adventure packed day that ended with our own version of "High Tea" in the park! We felt incredibly spoilt and loved every minute of our team bonding day out!!
